producer of two critical minerals

Ioneer’s 100%-owned Rhyolite Ridge Lithium-Boron Project will provide a significant new source of two products necessary for permanent magnets, batteries, semiconductors, and military applications — strengthening the U.S. supply chain, reducing reliance on foreign sources, and bolstering national security.

Rhyolite Ridge is a permitted, construction-ready greenfield project in Esmeralda County, Nevada, that will mine and process both lithium and boron on-site.

The unique mineralogy at Rhyolite Ridge, including co-production of boron, allows for the Project to remain globally competitive in various lithium pricing environments.

WHAT DISTINGUISHES RHYOLITE RIDGE

Rhyolite Ridge’s unique mineralogy, economics and proximity to end users optimize existing supply chains which, combined with Ioneer’s operational excellence, ensures efficient delivery of high quality products.

 

Efficient Operations

  • Co-generate CO2-free power on-site independent of energy grid or a gas pipeline.
  • Small mine footprint with no evaporation ponds or tailings dam.
  • Use of automated hauling equipment.

Robust Project Economics

  • Ioneer has already invested more than $200 million private sector capital in Rhyolite Ridge.
  • The co-production of boric acid and lithium using one mining and processing flowsheet means Rhyolite Ridge is expected to result in a globally low-cost position on a Lithium Carbonate Equivalent (LCE) basis.
  • Rhyolite Ridge has closed a $996 million loan from the U.S. Department of Energy. [1]

Low Emissions and Water Usage

  • On-site power will be met with CO2-free energy production, resulting in low greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Project design implements best-in-class water utilization, recycling the majority of water used.
  • Expected to use 30x less water per tonne than existing U.S. production.

Commitment to Sustainability

  • Spent millions dedicated to environment conservation and have committed to do so for the life of the project.
  • Implementing Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) program.
  • Executed a Development Agreement with Esmeralda County to develop and deliver an investment plan for County residents.
