Project Overview

Advancing the Rhyolite Ridge
Lithium-Boron Project in Nevada.

Rhyolite Ridge hosts the largest undeveloped lithium-boron Ore Reserve in the world outside of Turkey.

Because our operations will be on-site and our materials will not be shipped to a separate processing facility, Ioneer will more quickly and efficiently produce lithium (carbonate and hydroxide) and boric acid for American supply chains.

The expansion opportunities at Rhyolite Ridge are also substantial. The Rhyolite Ridge Ore Reserve has more than quadrupled from 60 million tonnes (Mt) in 2020 to 266 Mt in 2025.

The Ore Reserve now contains 7.76 Mt of boric acid equivalent and 2.03 Mt of lithium carbonate equivalent, making it the largest lithium-boron Reserve in the world.1

Rhyolite Ridge Quick Facts

SUPPLYING CRITICAL MINERALS

Rhyolite Ridge will provide a significant new source of two products necessary for permanent magnets, batteries, semiconductors, and military applications

CREATING NEVADA JOBS

500 direct jobs during construction period and, when in operations, will create 350 direct jobs while generating
$889 million in total economic activity annually 2

GENERATING IMPACT IN NEVADA

Project will generate approximately $34 million in public revenues during a three-year construction period, and approximately $28 million annually during operations 3

ENGAGING WITH COMMUNITIES

Longstanding engagement with Tribal Nations and a Development Agreement with Esmeralda County to provide funding for enhanced community services and infrastructure

MINIMIZING WATER USE

Approximately 4,000 acre-ft/year of water required – similar to the amount used by seven irrigation pivots, recycling the majority of process water used

LIMITING OUR FOOTPRINT

No evaporation ponds, no tailings dams

Location

The Rhyolite Ridge Lithium-Boron Project is in Esmeralda County, Nevada, on public land administered by the U.S. Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

Rhyolite Ridge is:

  • approximately 14 miles northeast of Dyer, Nevada (nearest town),
  • 65 miles southwest of Tonopah, Nevada, the closest city,
  • 215 miles from Reno, and
  • 255 miles from Las Vegas.

The project sits between 5,535 to 6,010 feet (1,687 to 1,832 meters) above sea level.
