Advancing the Rhyolite Ridge
Lithium-Boron Project in Nevada.
Rhyolite Ridge is one of two advanced lithium projects in the U.S. and is fully funded to a Final Investment Decision. Once operational, Rhyolite Ridge is expected to be a low-cost lithium site, due to the valuable boron co-product and innovative cost saving measures embedded in our sustainably designed operations.
Over the course of its lifetime, modelled on a 26-year production, Rhyolite Ridge will help power upward of 50 million electric vehicles.
Because our operations will be on-site and our materials will not be shipped to a separate processing facility, Ioneer can more quickly and efficiently produce lithium carbonate, critical for the EV battery supply chain.
Rhyolite Ridge Quick Facts
SUPPLYING CRITICAL MINERALS
Rhyolite Ridge produces battery components that will power 50 million EVs and strengthen domestic supply chains
Committed to maintain and improve road from Highway 264 to facility
CREATING NEVADA JOBS
400-500 during construction and 250-300 jobs during operations
Carbon-free energy production and limited greenhouse gas emissions
GENERATING LOCAL AND STATE IMPACT
Project will generate $15-25 million in public revenues during construction, and $13-31.5 million annually once operational
LIMITING OUR FOOTPRINT
No evaporation ponds, no tailing dam.
LOW WATER USAGE
Approximately 4,000 acre-ft/year usage of water, a similar usage to seven irrigation pivots

The Rhyolite Ridge Lithium-Boron Project is located in Esmeralda County, Nevada, on public land administered by the U.S. Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) situated in the Silver Peak Range, part of the larger geo-physiographic Basin and Range Province of western Nevada.
Rhyolite Ridge is approximately 14 miles northeast from Dyer, Nevada (nearest town). It is 65 miles southwest of Tonopah, Nevada (closest city), 215 miles from Reno (third largest city in Nevada), and 255 miles from Las Vegas (largest city in Nevada).
Surface elevations at the project site range from 5,535 to 6,010 feet (1,687 to 1,832 meters) above sea level.
Sibanye-Stillwater is an excellent partner for Ioneer to jointly realize the promise of Rhyolite Ridge because of the Company’s:
- Proven track record of developing and operating major mining projects including three integrated facilities in Montana;
- Commitment to developing and maintaining an inclusive and sustainable culture; and
- Determination to become a major force in the electric battery materials supply chain.
Sibanye-Stillwater is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
