Senior Accountant Position

Senior Accountant

Location: Reno, Nevada
Schedule: Regular full-time, in office with optional one day work from home
Reports to: US Finance Director
About the Role

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for financial and management accounting,
capital project accounting, budget reporting, internal controls, and establishing scalable
accounting processes to support a growing mining organization. This role is ideal for
someone with experience in large-scale construction, mining development, energy, or
other capital-intensive industries who thrives in a dynamic, fast-evolving environment.

enthusiastic, and solutions-focused approach, with an interpersonal style that supports
teamwork, respectful working relationships, process improvement, and strong results.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting

• Perform the monthly close process, including journal entries, consolidation
workbook, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Review 3rd party-generated payroll journal entries for proper mapping and
posting in ERP system.
• Manage monthly cost reporting, including variance analysis, and executive
summary cost reports.
• Prepare financial analysis for key accounts.
• Account for daily cash activity and prepare cash analysis for review by Finance Director.
• Review transactions posted by Accounts Payable for input accuracy and
make any required month-end corrections.
• Review and approve new supplier setups in ERP.
• Review recurring state, county and city tax filings, including sales and use tax.
• Review annual 1099 filings for accuracy and coordinating distribution.
• Participate in ERP implementation, system enhancements, and process
automation initiatives led by the US Finance Director.
• Maintain the fixed asset register for non-constructions items.
• Provide finance support to the US Finance Director, Sydney Finance
Manager, and CFO as required.

Management Accounting & Budgeting
• Partner with cost center owners to monitor spending against budget.
• Monitor project spending against approved budgets.
• Assist with preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
Controls, Compliance & Audit
• Strengthen internal controls and processes during organizational growth.
• Support external audit requirements led by US Finance Director.

Business Partnership
• Serve as a finance resource to the ioneer team.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives supporting the successful transition
from exploration to mining operations.
• Complete additional tasks and projects as requested by the US Finance
Director, Sydney Finance Manager, and CFO.

Qualifications and Experience
• 3-5 years accounting and general ledger experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• Experience performing accounting in a multi-currency environment
• Previous exposure to the mining industry and/or large capital projects
preferred

Strong knowledge or experience in:
• Capital project accounting / Construction-in-progress (CIP)
• Fixed asset accounting
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Internal controls
• ERP systems (SAP, Ellipse, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, etc.)
• Exposure and involvement to ERP system implementation is an asset
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
